Crafting furniture out of reclaimed wood is no easy feat. You need to find it, dismantle it from its existing location, and get it to the mill. From there it must be cleaned and examined for any nails or spikes that remain and need to be removed. From there it goes thru a kiln drying process to bring any moisture content down to 7%. It is only then that the craftsmen at Urban Barnwood are ready to transform this wood into beautiful furniture for our customer’s homes. There are definitely easier ways to make furniture today, but Urban Barnwood chose to do it in a way that is Eco friendly and allows us to create one-of-a-kind pieces each and every piece made.
